In the big picture it is obvious to say that the Obama Housing Plan was designed to reduce the debt not only for people struggling with home loan repayments but also with the national debt. The introduction of a fourteen billion dollar plan to reduce the homeowners’ debt was released in March of 2010. This plan did shock many of the people from America however for those losing their jobs or struggling with income problems this relief was exactly what they needed. Directly affecting the unemployed this plan started out very well and literally helped tens of thousands of people to save their homes.
The initial conditions for this plan were sketchy however after several changes in the conditions it was obvious that the system could not be taken advantage of by the people who had assets and other means of paying of their homes. Tough processes where put into place so that only the needy would receive the benefits. Screening tests were long and difficult however this really ensured that nobody could take advantage of the generous offer on hand.
Politically Obama’s plan has been taking a lot of flack since so much of the budget was spent on bailing out citizens. The contract included up to six months of funding for unemployed people in all states of America. 45,000 people where helped out through the Bank of America in a loan up to three billion dollars. This was a huge relief for those about to lose their homes due to real financial troubles.
